Indigenous Collections Symposium
In partnership with the Woodland Cultural Centre and the Indigenous Knowledge Centre at the Six Nations Polytechnic, the Ontario Museum Association (OMA) is happy to announce the opening of registration for the Indigenous Collections Symposium: Promising Practices, Challenging Issues and Changing the System taking place on March 23-24, 2017.   Considering the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and building towards Canada’s Sesquicentennial in 2017, the discussion about care and interpretation of Indigenous collections, particularly those held in trust by non-Indigenous organizations, is an important one. The OMA is keen to help facilitate what we hope will be an ongoing conversation in which the OMA, our members, and Indigenous communities in Ontario will continue to engage going forward. IN PERSON REGISTRATION IS SOLD OUT! - PLEASE REGISTER TO ATTEND ONLINE. Email [email protected] to have your name added to the in person waiting list. Attend Online: registration includes three webinars, access to streaming of all sessions on Day One (Thursday) of the symposium, access to video archives of presentations from Day One (Thursday) and Day Two (Friday) of the symposium.
