Conference Connections

Pre-registration required

Conference Connections is a successful mentorship program, now in its 6th year! It is designed to introduce Emerging Museum Professionals (EMPs) to more established museum professionals, facilitating professional networking and exchange.

Based on your professional interests, w pair you with your very own Conference Connection, who you will arrange to meet with during the conference. After a little guidance from us on how to make the most of your connection, the experience is what you make it!

Conference Connections meet-up suggestions:

• Wednesday: Opening Reception (Six Nations Polytechnic), Trivia Night
• Thursday: Networking Breaks, GOEMP Lunchtime Discussion Table, Reception with Exhibitors
• Friday: Networking Breaks, GOEMP Lunchtime Discussion Table

Trivia Night

Now in its 6th year, GOEMP Trivia Night has become a conference tradition. Test your Ontario knowledge and enjoy a fun evening of camaraderie and competition. Come with a team of 8 or join up with new friends, everyone is welcome!

GOEMP Lunchtime Discussion Table


Best Western Brantford, Grand Ballroom

GOEMP has got your back at lunch! On Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25, the Group of Ontario Emerging Museum Professionals (GOEMP) Committee will facilitate a Discussion Table to serve in the following ways:

• the official meeting place for Conference Connections participants;
• a meet-and-greet space for GOEMP Committee members and the EMP community;
• an opportunity to find out more about applying to be on the GOEMP Committee for the 2019-2022 term; and
• a “Take A Minute” decompression station with various art-making and puzzle-related materials on hand for Conference delegates to enjoy.
