Stanhope Heritage Discovery Museum

This community museum is located in the original wood-frame Stanhope Council Chamber built in 1910. Exhibits and displays interpret the local history of the area including early settlement, education, post offices, churches, the war years and "leisure and living." Artifacts include clothing, photographs, documents and a black-powder muzzle-loading rifle brought to the area by an English settler in the 1860s.
