May is Museum Month 2021 provides an opportunity to emphasize how museums connect Ontario, especially during these times of physical distancing, and coincides with International Museum Day on May 18th, an initiative of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
We want to highlight all the ways that museums are evolving to meet the challenges of today and emerge stronger for the future.

Celebrate Ontario's museums during the month of May by taking part in the following activities:
- Post your online content, virtual events, and special offers in your Discover Ontario Museums listings at www.museumsontario.ca and tag any content with #MuseumFromHome! (Here's how: User's Guide)
- Twitter and Facebook users: Tag any content with #MayisMuseumMonth and tag the OMA @museumsontario
- Learn more about International Museum Day (IMD) by visiting the International Council of Museums (ICOM) website here and add your May museum virtual events and activities to the interactive world map!
- Use the OMA's May is Museum Month 2021 wordmark below on your website and publications, and forward to your local media outlets.

ICOM’s International Museum Day advocates for the creative potential of culture as a driver for recovery and innovation in the post-COVID era. Museums all over the world will be hosting events and online activities around the theme of The Future of Museums – Recover and Reimagine.
