Session Description

Museums can reap enormous benefits if accessibility is addressed for people with disabilities. Using examples from sites around the Niagara area, participants will gain insight into fantastic experiences for people with disabilities - beyond just having  an accessible washroom. This presentation will address mobility impairment, but move beyond this to discuss other accessibility issues such as use of technology, community engagement and marketing. Museums tell fabulous stories and provide amazing experiences. By addressing key issues of access, we can increase visitorship and develop new audiences and resources.
