• Study Tours
  • ​9:00am-4:00pm: Study Tour: OFF THE RECORD - Download Flyer
    • ​Museums will speak candidly about their struggles and renewals that led to successes! Visited sites will include local community museums and artist-run centres engaged in change and renewal to become vital community resources. 
    • Stops include: Murney Tower Museum and National Historic Site; Marine Museum of the Great Lakes; Museum of Health Care; Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre; Frontenac County Schools Museum.
  • 9:00am-4:30pm: CAPITAL RENEWAL Study Tour - Download Flyer
    • ​This Tour will focus on museums and galleries that have undergone recent capital renewal projects or are exploring new partnerships! 
    • Stops include: Lennox & Addington County Museum & Archives; Military Communications and Electronics Museum; Pump House Museum; Agnes Etherington Art Centre.

• Opening Reception: 1000 Islands Cruise Exclusive Charter for OMA Conference Delegates!
  • Boarding: 5:00pm at 1 Brock Street (5 minute walk from Conference Hotel)  |  Cruise: 5:30-7:30pm

This once in a lifetime opportunity is included in all FULL Conference registration packages! Join your colleages for a 2-hour Opening Reception departing from Kingston Harbour, part of the UNESCO-designated Rideau Canal. During this 2-hour journey the Island Queen, a triple decked paddlewheeler in the Mississippi River boat style, will navigate through the unique sights and heritage of the 1000 Islands region and the historic waterfront of Canada's First Capital.

  • 5:00-6:00pm in Limestone Foyer and Gibraltar Room

An opportunity to network with other museum professionals while enjoying a drink and talking with OMA Exhibitors, supporters of the museum community in Ontario and providers of vital services and supplies to museum sites

• Awards of Excellence Gala
  • 6:00-9:00pm in Limestone City Ballroom

Lets celebrate museum excellence in style! Included in all FULL Conference Registrations this evening will have a three course meal, entertainment, and the Awards of Excellent Winners and Certificate in Museum Studies Graduates will be recognized throughout the night!

• Ontario/Canada 150+ Trivia Night
  • 9:00-11:00pm in Limestone City Ballroom

Is this your year to be victorious? We're going to test your knowledge on Ontario & Canada History - bring a team along or find one at the door, all are welcome at this fun night of networking and friendly competition!

• Silent Auction
  • 9:00am-Awards of Excellence Gala

The Silent Auction will be available the entire day on Thursday and feature unique local items from museum gift shops, handmade items from ever creative museum professionals, discounted services and experiences and so much more! Last call will take place during the Awards of Excellence Gala!

• Draw for FREE 2018 Conference Registration

Closing of Conference is a sad time for all... so we've done our best to keep the excitement going right to the end; all you have to do is be a FULL 2017 Conference delegate and in attendance to win! Congratulations to a Scarborough Museum staff member who won in 2016 and will be attending this year's conference free of charge!

• Draw for Passport Prizes with Exhibitors

Each conference delegate will receive a passport in their delegate bags. Visit all the participating Exhibitors to find the answer to their question and obtain your stamp. Well traveled delegates with full passports will be entered into the Passport for Prizes draw at the end of conference. You must be there to win!
