Conference Connections is a mentorship program that takes place during the OMA Annual Conference, now in its 5th year! An initiative coordinated by the Group of Ontario Emerging Museum Professionals Committee (GOEMP) and the Ontario Museum Association (OMA), it is designed to introduce Emerging Museum Professionals (those within the first 10 years of their professional careers) to more established museum professionals, facilitating networking and exchange.

We use the information you provide in your Conference Connections Registration Form to pair you with your very own Conference Connection.  After a little guidance from us on how to make the most of your connection, the experience is what you make it!

What is expected of Mentors?

Be willing to share your wisdom and career insights with an emerging museum professional, gaining a fresh perspective in your field! Recommended 5 years of experience.

What is expected of Mentees?

Be open to learning from the experiences of an established museum professional, sharing your own career aspirations and ideas about the future of museums!

The Conference Connections program is beneficial in connecting a wide range of individuals within the Ontario Museum Sector workforce.
