Good Governance, an Essential Element in any Organization!

Board members are key to the success of Ontario’s museums, and these workshops are an opportunity for board and staff members to learn together in sessions developed specifically for the museum sector.

Workshop topics include:

  • fundamentals of great organizational leadership
  • strategies to improve your governance and overcome common governance concerns
  • Q&A sessions to answer your questions

In 2013, governance workshops were delivered in partnership with 4 regional networks in Ontario. Over 90% of attendees indicated an improved understanding of their role in governance, and of those surveyed, all are continuing to make improvements in their governance practice at their museum.

‘Please continue doing these great workshops. I wish I would have participated in them 3 years earlier!’ – Board participant

‘Thank you for inspiring us all to do better and be better for the good of our organization’s’- staff participant

‘Interesting and on topic, good balance of humor and seriousness, gives me a direction for improvement’ – Board participant

These sessions will also support continued compliance with the CMOG Governance standard, and are open to all interested museums in the area.

  • les principes fondamentaux d’un leadership organisationnel efficace ;
  • les stratégies d’amélioration de la gouvernance et de résolution des obstacles les plus courants  à la gouvernance ;
