The OMA, in consultation with the Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, can provide a document detailing specific requirements for museums under the province's new COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open. This resource clarifies key differences in guidance for museums located in red zones versus orange, yellow, and green zones in four relevant sections: General compliance; Capacity limits for businesses or facilities open to the public; Cleaning requirements; and Museums, etc. 
 
In general, the requirements for museums under the current framework are the same as in the previous system of stages. Museums in red zones can remain open but must close any high touch or interactive exhibits. Museums in orange, yellow or green zones can keep high touch and interactive exhibits open, but must adhere to cleaning requirements.

Organizations are encouraged to review the COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open, O. Reg. 263/20: Rules for Areas in Stage 2, and O. Reg. 364/20: Rules for Areas in Stage 3 in detail and call the Stop the Spread Business Information Line (1-888-444-3659) if they have questions about complying with current requirements.
