Support the OMA this #GivingTuesday
The Ontario Museum Association is participating in #GivingTuesday! It’s a global movement of giving across organizations, families, and individuals alike. Today, you have the opportunity to participate in this international day of generosity and support the OMA as we continue our work to keep Ontario’s museums vibrant and vital in the face of pandemic challenges and beyond.
Here are some of the ways we were able to support the museum sector this year:

- We successfully advocated for investment to facilitate the digital response of museums to the pandemic. This resulted in the province’s additional $2 million investment within the fiscal year and, from Canadian Heritage, the addition of the Digital Access to Heritage component of the Museums Assistance Program.
- We provided timely and relevant information to our members as news, regulations, and updates were released, ensuring that our members stayed up-to-date on changing legislation and requirements.
- 32 eNews Alerts to date in 2021
- 52 ONmuseums e-newsletters per year
- We delivered webinars at no cost to members about responding to the pandemic, safely reopening, and professional development.

- We facilitated member check-ins to ensure our members and the museum community were able to connect amidst the challenges brought on by COVID-19.
- We hosted our second virtual edition of the OMA Annual Conference, bringing together some the sector's leading thinkers and innovators, and we ensured all members could access the Annual Conference by offering fully subsidized registration.

- We provided bursaries for the 2021 Indigenous Collections Symposium, and increased the Certificate in Museum Studies course bursary from 1 to 5 students for this year.

- Consider making a gift to the OMA in honor of #GivingTuesday. You can choose what your gift will contribute to: our general operations, professional development, or advocacy initiatives.
- Help us get the word out on social media by engaging with us on Facebook and Twitter.
- Share photos on your social platform about what Ontario’s museums mean to you. Tag us and use the hashtag "#MuseumsOntario"!
- Find out about volunteering opportunities at your local community museum, gallery, or heritage site.
- Do something kind for another person, help a neighbor in need, thank our frontline workers, or donate blood.
