The Future of the Arts, Culture and Heritage in Canada
The OMA will be joining a number of our provincial and territorial museum association (PTMA) colleagues, the Canadian Museums Association (CMA), other organizations and representatives of the culture sector at the National Culture Summit being held at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa May 2-4. The OMA has been invited by the Department of Canadian Heritage in order to amplify the needs and potential of our members to the national level. We look forward to working together on a long-awaited updated National Museum policy.
Museums across Canada can join the virtual experience in order to participate in the Summit.

As an organization of provincial scope, the Ontario Museum Association recognizes that its members and community live and work on the lands and territories of Indigenous peoples. Toronto, where the OMA offices are located, is the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, Haudenosaunee and the Huron Wendat. We wish to express our gratitude for the resources we are using and pay respect to the rich and ongoing Indigenous history of what is now Ontario and Canada.
