Rural Economic Development (RED) Program Funding for Museums February 24th, 2020 Deadline
The province will cover up to 50% of the costs for eligible projects that help remove barriers to job creation and attract investment. The Strategic Economic Infrastructure Stream of the program enables the province to cover up to 30% of eligible minor capital projects that help spur economic growth, such as restoring museums and heritage sites.
Rural communities and regions, Indigenous communities and organizations, not-for-profit organizations, and local service boards can all apply for the RED program starting today through February 24, 2020.

Indigenous Relations in Ottawa – An Introductory Handbook Ottawa Museum Network
The handbook introduces readers to essential history and terminology of the Omamiwinini (Algonquin-Anishinaabe), the territory encompassing the Ottawa River Watershed, contemporary Indigenous issues and social movements as well as specific content for museums working with Indigenous communities. The handbook is accompanied by a map of the traditional Omamiwinini territory with Algonquin names for 13 sites of significance along the Ottawa River. The map is for all member museums to use in programming, exhibitions and educational activities.
This is accompanied by the launch of Museums and Indigenous Communities: Resources for Museum Professionals (Knowledge Hub) which was designed to be a one-stop resource for member museums as well as for others in the wider heritage and cultural fields looking for documentary resources for museums about museums and Indigenous cultural heritage.

Cultural Development Coordinator Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Cultural Development Coordinator position oversees and supervises the operational requirements of the Town of Lincoln Museum & Cultural Centre including planning, staffing and reporting. The successful candidate will manage the transition of the Museum from its interim location to its new permanent home in Jordan, Ontario in 2020. The Cultural Development Coordinator will be the primary lead for the development, planning and execution of exhibitions and programs that raise the profile of the Museum within the community and beyond. Other responsibilities will include providing leadership and support in developing and implementing cultural initiatives and policies that will advance the Municipal Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan.

Programming Assistant Museum in Southampton
This position runs a total of 9 weeks, beginning at the Museum in Southampton on June 24, 2020 and ending August 22, 2020. The Programming Assistant will assist with implementation of programming including: guest performances, concerts, talks, demonstrations, and movies. Duties include liaising with presenters, assisting with tech requirements, set-up and introduction of presenters. He/she will interact with the public, guiding hands-on activity areas for children; acting as Tour Guide for incoming groups and interpreting exhibits. He/she will monitor and guide planned activities and programs for the exhibits. The candidate will also be involved in training and monitoring youth and adult volunteers.
