Canadian Conservation Institute - PadCAD Available Online
The Canadian Conservation Institute is happy to offer PadCAD online. PadCAD is a calculator that simplifies protective cushion design for the safe shipment of fragile objects.
With PadCAD, you can design cushioning systems in three simple steps:
- describe the object
- describe the shipping container
- select a cushion design
A new addition to the online version of PadCAD is a prediction of vibration transmissibility for known object resonant frequencies. The application also includes a complete user guide, a glossary and working examples.

Rick Hansen Foundation Offering Free Building Accessibility Audits

Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility CertificationTM (RHFAC) is a tool that gives organizations a snapshot of their building’s accessibility to inform future accessibility improvements.
Thanks to the support of the Government of Ontario's Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility, 250 complimentary RHFAC ratings are available in 10 municipalities across Ontario. Applications are open until March 27th, 2020.
If your site achieves a high enough rating to become RHF Accessibility Certified or Accessibility Certified Gold, celebrate your achievement by listing on the RHFAC Registry and displaying your recognition label. It's time to showcase your commitment to accessibility.

Inscriptions to the Canada Memory of the World Register

In collaboration with its Canadian Advisory Committee for Memory of the World, the Canadian Commission for UNESCO (CCUNESCO) is pleased to launch the third Call for Nominations for inscriptions on the Canada Memory of the World Register.
This Register recognizes significant documentary heritage related to Canada and its peoples, and is one of the vehicles of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program which aims at preserving and providing access to documentary heritage as the embodiment of the memory of humanity.
In recognition of the United Nations’ International Decade for People of African Descent 2015-2024, CCUNESCO extends a special call for documentary heritage related to Black Canadians with the goal of increasing awareness of this community’s diverse cultures, history, and contributions to Canadian society.
CCUNESCO continues to extend a special call for proposals for documentary heritage related to Indigenous languages and cultures. Many are considered to be endangered, and their preservation, strengthening and revitalization are of crucial importance to Indigenous peoples and to Canadian society.

4-Month Student Position
This position is for a full-time, post-secondary student of concurrent education, political science, visual arts, history, geography, child & youth studies, or museum studies returning to school in Fall 2020. This role will involve planning, preparing, and evaluating public and educational programming for temporary and permanent exhibitions. The student will assist with organizing key summer events, enhance education kits, and perform other similar tasks.

Children's Programs Officer (Bilingual)
Upper Canada Village
The Children's Programs Officer will co-ordinate, implement, and develop the Live-In Adventure Program, support the youth camps, and assist with the set-up and operation of the Family Activity Centre as well as other children's programs. They will research themes and activities related to the history of 18th and 19th century Canada, and will update interpretative materials. They will assist with the orientation, training, and coaching of other staff.
