Returning for a second year, this GOEMP project invites colleagues to mail in postcards that share anonymous stories about studying and working in the cultural sector. At Conference, a moderated panel discussion will analyze these postcards and speak directly to the audience about various issues affecting museum professionals today.

Conference Connections is a successful mentorship program coordinated by the Group of Ontario Emerging Museum Professionals Committee (GOEMP) and the OMA. It is designed to introduce Emerging Museum Professionals (EMPs) to more established museum professionals, facilitating professional networking and exchange.

Call for Student Poster Submissions for Play Symposium

The Symposium on Family Learning, Inclusion and the Value of Play in Museums is seeking submissions from college and university students engaged in work involving topics such as children and family learning, play, accessibility, and museum spaces. Expressed visually in the form of a standard-sized poster, selected submissions will be showcased to a wide range of international museum professionals, academics, and early learning experts.

The twelfth biennial North American Textile Conservation Conference (NATCC) will be held in Ottawa-Gatineau, and will focus on the theme of “Lessons Learned – Textile Conservation – Then and Now.” We propose to revisit conservation procedures, best practices, collaborations, and other preservation guidelines carried out during the 1980s through the present.
