The Royal Canadian Regiment Museum presents “Museum from Our Home to Yours” is a new program to help us stay connected with all our patrons and enthusiastic supporters, from anywhere in Canada or in the world. Even though we are closed, there is lots going on behind the scenes!
Our 2020 Speaker Series has been moved online. The talks will be posted once a month to our YouTube channel, while we are not able to host them onsite. Subscribe to keep up to date! We have also started releasing the podcast which can be found on Simplecast (https://rcrm-speakers-series-podcast.simplecast.com/), Spotify and Apple podcast.
Our online collection has been launched! Search our database to learn about different artefacts in the museum collection. (http://www.thercrmuseum.ca/en-ca/Collection/Online-Collection) The Online Collection does not feature every artefact held at the museum. However, it is our goal to make all material accessible to the public. We have digitized many artefacts in our collection, but it is a gradual and ongoing process. We will be adding artefact records to the Online Collection regularly as digitization efforts continue to progress.
Activities and education material can be found on the visit section of our website (http://www.thercrmuseum.ca/en-ca/Visit). You can learn about First World War Slang or do a wordsearch! We are also developing larger lessons for teachers to use as part of their remote teaching.
We have been busy creating new content for our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/ThercrmuseumCa) to give a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes at the museum, share some of our galleries and to support education programs.
Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube to keep up to date on everything The RCR Museum is doing while we #MuseumFromHome!
