Glengarry Pioneer Museum
This community museum interprets the history of the nineteenth-century Scottish, Loyalist, and French Canadian settlement in Glengarry County. The site houses a unique collection of buildings: the first bar in Eastern Ontario, a miniature cheese factory, a school house, the Roxborough Town Hall, two period log barns, a livery shed and the last working forge/blacksmith shop in the county. Artifacts on display include furniture, clothing, textiles, china and farm tools. The museum's reference room includes collections of photographs, books, genealogical material, bibles and maps that indicate the earliest farms in the area. The Glengarry Pioneer Museum also hosts special events including an Historical Driving Tour, annual Wood Fair and Wood Auction, the annual Fall Festival, and a Reenactment of the War of 1812.
