Pre-Conference Study Tour: Tentsitiatátken – We Will See Each Other Again
Description
Itinerary: The tour will examine how the past of the Haudenosaunee plays a big part in how the communities on Six Nations are shaping our future for the faces yet to come: -How hunting, fishing and agricultural practices of the Haudenosaunee are still utilized in the restoration of Indigenous plants and hunting today. -How grassroots governance systems integrated with Indigenous knowledge and museum practices work within an Indigenous corporate structure. -How to bridge a religious historic site to reconnect to community and the importance of place. This study tour will take participants into Indigenous spaces, thinking about how we all relate to one another in an ever-changing world. The importance of Haudenosaunee’s relationships with the land and connection to all relations is a key component of this study tour.
