The themes delivered at Ontario Museums at Queen's Park 2012 were:

Ontario museums contribute to Ontario's economy by employing 8,000 Ontarians, engaging 16,000 volunteers and spending $562 million. That Ontario museums are community builders, documenting local industry and innovation and partnering with municipalities in serving and engaging citizens. Ontar Museums are partners in education, stimulating learning and directly supporting the Ontario curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12 with 1 million school visits a year.

For museums to remain vital and vibrant contributors to Ontario communities and the economy:
  • sustain stable museum operating funding (Community Museum Operating Grants)
  • integrate museum and cultural planning into broader government policy initiatives, like tourism policy
  • together with others in the nonprofit sector (ONN Partnership Project) streamline and modernize relationship to government
